The first one I bought at a police auction. it is an IBM, It is password protected so I have never been able to get into it. It has the monitor, Mouse and keyboard with it. I dont know how old it is but usually the police department replaces there computers every 2 years or so.
The second Is a HP. The cord on the monitor has some bent prongs so it wont plug into the back of the pc. It is about 5 years old and has speakers, mouse and keyboard, it also has a cd burner in it. But the problem is it wont boot up. It gets to the menu where you choose which person to log in on (windows ME) But when I try to log in, it says I need to install Windows and the virtual memory is too low.
I want to get rid of them because they are taking up space in my garage, I dont know much about computers so I will never be able to fix them. I was planning on putting them in my garage sale this weekend with MAKE AN OFFER on them. What should I accept as an offer for each of them?
How much are my old computers worth at a garage sale?bmw
The first computer that is password protected can be fixed or changed by the company. Also, the statement you made is correct the police department does infact replace there computers AT LEAST every 2 years. So the first computer you may very well try anywhere from 50-80 dollars and if it doesnt sell the lower the price depending upon how bad you want to get rid of it. The HP computer i would say it sounds like its in pretty bad condition and there isnt much use anyone could get out of it. I would say 10-15 dollars for that one, unless you sell like individual pieces like the mouse and keyboard seperate. I still would not hope to receive more than a twenty dollar profit off of the second computer. Goodluck with your garage sell i hope my answer has helped you know what to expect.
