Do nurses need help learning computers and training with basic systems?

Everything in my hospital is on the computer as well and there are many different programs we have to use through out the day. We are now even communicating with email (Outlook) with our manager and other units in the hospital. It would be hard for someone if they didn't know their way around a computer or were slow at typing because we do a lot of our reporting on the computer as well

Yes, most all hospital's use computers now. You at least need to know the basic use of a computer. All records of patients are now in a computer base. When I had to go to the emergency room, in Febrtuary of this year, all the nurse needed to know, was my name and address, and in 5 minutes, she had all of my medical information..
Yes they certainly don't cover that in nursing school. Thank God most places still use paper.
