You ABSOLUTELY Can have 2 computers with the SAME IP connected to a router. The route must provide NAT service. Each Computer can have the same IP, the router will have to be configured to ROUTE correctly (Using a STATIC NAT MAPPING) to each interface/Vlan.

This doesn't really do anything for you, I doubt anyone would do it, but it Can be done, if you'd like, I can post a sample Cisco router config of this type.

You can use someone else's IP as a proxy, ROUTING will forward traffic to the original computer though, not yours.

EDIT ***

To others that have answered this question, understand the each computer CAN be statically configured with the SAME IP address and be on the same NETWORK as far as THEY know. The "trick" is to fool the hosts by configuring the router to have them on SEPERATE IP Subnets by the use of Vlans and Static NAT.

The two hosts cannot communicate to each other by with the IP they are configured with, the must use the "Virtual" IP that the Router is configured for (Vlan).

For those that say "No, it cannot be done", I HAVE done this, just to prove it CAN be done.
