How do you network two computers in a house i have dsl throgh the phone if that is relavent?

my friend just moved in and has a computer i have dsl thru the phone company how do i get both computers to run off the one modem i have 4 ethernet jacks in the back of my modem

Great Question and thank you for participating in Yahoo's Q %26 A. First, you'll need to figure out which computer is going to be the main computer. You'll need to purchase a Wireless Router (which you can pick up at your nearest Radio Shack or other Electronics Store. Just follow the simple directions and install it to the main computer. Because you have the internet service already installed to the main machine and probably a printer, you can now purchase a Wireless Ethernet Card for each of the other computers in the house, if they dont already have one installed. Those machines can now jump wirelessly to the main machine and can share files, folders, internet service and the printer. Be sure to use the "Networking Wizard" on each machine so that it will help you to establish which machine has been chosen as the main machine and which ones are attempting to connect to the main machine wirelessly.
